” I was once afraid of people saying “Who does she think she is?” Now I have the courage to stand and say “This is who I am”.

I love quotes; and I especially love this quote by Oprah Winfrey, because it demonstrates the desire I have for each client who works with me. For them too feel stronger, more confident, and in control of themselves and their situations.

Through counselling, my goal is to have you build a strong relationship with self. Meaning that, you know who you are, what has brought you to this moment, and what you want for yourself.

I believe you can achieve this.

People attend counselling, to work through thoughts, feelings and behaviors which are impacting their ability to lead a fullsome life. They do it, to become the person who is able to say, “this is who I am”. To feel more comfortable in the confines of their minds and skin. Or learn the skills, to have better relationships with others.

Social Work services are covered under many health benefit plans. Thus, you will be provided an invoice, to be reimbursed by your provider. Do also note, that counselling services provided by an RSW can be claimed as an eligible medical expense when filing your income taxes.

As I shared on my About Page, I have worked with countless women throughout the years, and have developed a firm understanding around many women’s issues. Women go through various stages in life, and sometimes have competing identities that compound this. I’m not only drawing from my clinical experiences, but from my own personal journey as well.

I provide homework

Now this may not sound like the benefit you would have considered, but I truly believe in its importance. Change doesn’t soley happen during sessions, but with the application of these learnings in your everyday life. Through various forms of reflection and homework, I try to encourage this. Clients have shared, they find this very helpful, and actually request their homework. This isn’t like our high school essays (thank goodness!), but I do provide exercises to help you reflect.
